- Due to a blood type incompatibility between you and I, you developed jaundice within 12 hours of being born. Luckily, the great doctors and nurses at the hospital knew to look for it and were able to treat it before it got out of control. You only had to spend about 36 hours "under the lights" before you were cleared to go home.
- I have been averaging about 3 1/2 hours of sleep throughout the night. I try to make some of it up with two daily naps (or "mini comas" as I like to call them). We refer to the hours between 12 and 3 am as the "witching hour" as you seem to have the most difficult time sleeping during that period of time
- Nursing has been SO challenging in SO many ways but every time you look up at me, satisfied after a feeding, it makes all of the pain, soreness and emotional angst melt away and is replaced with just utter love for doing the best thing possible for you.
- You hate having your diaper changed - 90% of the time you wail - the other 10% you are normally still sleeping so don't realize what is going on. (once you figure it out, you wail)
- You went on your first outing withou even realizing it. We managed to take you to the Killeen's house for a wedding shower and back home again all without you even waking up or leaving your carseat.
- You had your first photo shoot - newborn photos! The shoot ended up taking 4 hours and involved two feedings, four wardrobe changes, one location change and lots of crying, pooping and peeing. Boy, it wore me out, but based on the sneak peak I got of the pictures, I know it was worth it.
We can't wait to see what week 2 will hold!
First time in your swing - I think the jury is still out on this one!
Early morning nap.
